Picture Hunt
Picture hunts are so much fun! They're easy to do in person or virtually if you're celebrating Mother's Day over long distance. One person comes up with a list of photos of mom, like "mom at the beach." One by one, everyone must try to find the best picture of mom according to the parameter!

Painting Trade-Off
This game can be so silly, and at the end, you'll have a "beautiful" art piece you can hang up. Grab some paper and some paints or pencils. Set a timer for one minute and let mom start a drawing. When the timer does off, mom passes it off to the next person to add to her creation. Keep rotating until the artwork is complete.

Famous Moms
Sure, your own mom is the best, but famous tv and movie moms have taught us some important lessons too! Print out or draw two columns and on one side, list famous mom characters. On the other side, list the first names of their fictional kids (out of order). Everyone takes turns trying to match the famous moms to their children.

Finish the Story
Finish the Story is a hilarious, creative game that requires just a pen and paper. Gather around and let one person begin by writing one sentence from a story (real or make-believe) about mom. Person two continues the story by writing the following sentence and so on. At the end, read out the full tale. You'll be surprised where your creativity takes you, and you'll have a silly souvenir afterward! And if you have kids who are too young to write, you can always play the game aloud.

Fishbowl
Fishbowl is like charades but better for older kids because it becomes increasingly harder: Write down mom's favorite actors, books, movies, and musicians and throw the papers in a bowl. Next, split into two teams and play three rounds. After each round, you will count how many your team got right and place the slips back in the bowl. Round one: Taboo. One player for each team has 60 seconds to give clues by describing the word or phrase while their teammates guess. Round two: Password. The timer begins again, and players can only offer a one-word clue. Round three: Charades. The timer starts yet again, and players can only act out the slip in their hand.

Left-Right Passing Game
You might know this game from Christmas, but it's a great game to play on Mother's Day! The rules are simple: Everyone has an identically wrapped party favor on hand (the winning prize has a special note). Print out a script for one person to read, and each time the reader says "right," everyone passes their favor to the right. When the reader says "left," everyone passes their favor to the left. When the script is over, everyone opens the favor that they ended up with. The one with the note inside is the winner of a special prize to give mom!

Mom Trivia
Who doesn't love trivia? Choose five categories, like movies, memories, or food. Next, have one person ask questions about mom for each category, to which each player has to guess the answer. For example: What dish does mom love to eat but doesn't cook? Hint: it has the word "scampi" in the name. If you have a music round, play short clips of mom's favorite songs and have each player guess the song title or artist!

Pretend To Be...
The Pretend To Be game is so silly. Simply write out a few cards with things that mom does. For example, "pretend to be mom on the phone" or "pretend to be mom when she's tired." Then, have the kids pick cards and act them out for mom. She gets a point for each one she gets right!
